ESSA would like to thank all contributors who make it possible to keep student tuition affordable.

ESSA Policies

Policies…

  • ESSA reserves the right to cancel, combine or reschedule classes, or change class instructors when necessary.

  • If ESSA is forced to cancel a class, all registered students will be notified and given the opportunity to register for another class within our fiscal year. If a transfer is not possible, students will receive a full refund.

  • ESSA cannot cover any airline or other travel ticket refunds.

Withdrawal, refund, and transfer…

  • Except for a non-refundable $75 cancellation fee per class, tuition payment is refundable if notice of cancellation is received in writing and postmarked two weeks prior to the beginning of class. No refund can be made after that date due to faculty contracts, material acquisitions, and housing and travel agreements. If cancellation occurs within the two week period, the tuition payment cannot be applied to a later session. ESSA will not make refunds to students withdrawing after a class has begun. Transfers from one workshop to another are permitted if space is available. To do so, you must notify ESSA at least 30 days before the start of your workshop and pay a $25 transfer fee.

  • Failure to attend class or verbal notification will not be regarded as an official notice of withdrawal.

Discount and fees…

  • Tuition for all adult classes is $275 (includes $15 lab fee). Tuition for all children’s classes is $110 (includes $10 lab fee). Materials fees vary, depending on the class, and are not included in the tuition/lab fees. Payment for materials will be made directly to the instructor and required by the last day of class. Upon registering for a class, you will receive an estimate of these fees along with a list of materials the instructor suggests you bring to class.

  • Early registration discount of 10% applies to all adult classes.

Scholarships and work study…

  • Limited scholarships are available for both adult and children’s classes. They are awarded on the basis of merit and need and are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarship applications are due 30 days prior to first date of class. Call ESSA, or log onto our website for the application form.

  • Limited work study opportunities are available for adult classes only. Participants receive one week of class for 40 hours of work in clerical tasks, computer tasks, grounds-keeping, housekeeping and other tasks that arise as helpful. For more information, please contact us.

Age requirements…

  • For all adult classes, students must be 18 years of age or older. Written consent from a parent is required for any student under 18.

  • For children’s classes, students must between the ages of 8 and 18, as specified in each class description.

Continuing Education…

  • Continuing education units are provided for teachers upon completion of the class. Documentation of hours will be provided to school administrators upon request. Please provide contact information.
